Elmer ‘Sleepy’ Lee

Funeral for Elmer “Sleepy” Lee, 89, of Hartselle will be Thursday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church with the Revs. A. Ray Lee, Randall Ashley and Greg Alred officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Lee died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at his residence. He was born April 11, 1917, in Jefferson County to Alvin Wilson Lee and Dora Lee Self Lee. He was a retired dairy farmer. His son, Ronald Timothy Lee, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Jones Lee of Hartselle; three sons, the Rev. Donald H. Lee and wife Beth of Mobile, Hal Lee and wife Jane Ann of Hartselle and Brad Lee and wife Roxana of Vestavia Hills; three daughters, Carolyn McClellan and husband Pete of Hartselle, Myra Bell and husband Richard of Knoxville, and Genell Lee of Montgomery; daughter-in-law, Jane Lee of Hartselle; two sisters, Thelma Anders, twin sister, of Rogersville and Zettie Wright of Hartselle; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Lebanon Baptist Church men’s Sunday school class.
