Volunteers of America clients shared in an exciting and fun-filled Christmas party on Dec. 20 thanks to the generosity of Copeland Corporation employees.
A highlight of the third annual event was a visit from Santa Claus. He greeted all 31 of the clients with a big hug and a candy cane and left a bag or box of individually-wrapped gifts for each one. They were carried home to be placed under the Christmas tree and opened on Dec.25.
Copeland employees Chris Stephenson and Dede Asherbranner attended the party as Santa’s helpers. Also on hand to assist with the party and offer their thanks to the sponsors were Victor Tucker, president and CEO of Volunteers of America, and Donna Maze, Hartselle office director.
Asherbranner said planning for the party began several weeks ago when employees were invited to take the name of a client and shop for the items on his or her wish list. The gifts were then wrapped and placed under the company’s Christmas tree.
In addition to Santa’s visit, the clients were treated to their favorite beverages and finger foods.
