Pair arrested for meth following car stop

By Staff
Two people were arrested last week on methamphetamine-related charges, less than a month after both were charged with similar offenses.
Michael Anthony Johnson, 42, and Bonnie Marie Johnson, 40, of 308 Minor Hill Road are charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of a Dec. 7 traffic stop.
The couple was arrested following a Nov. 9 traffic stop when officers discovered methamphetamines in their vehicle.
The Dec. 7 arrests occurred while agents with the Morgan County Drug Task Force were conducting an undercover investigation and found Johnson driving along Highway 31 in Hartselle. Agents knew his license was suspended. Falkville police were notified and were able to stop Johnson’s car for displaying a switched tag.
A search of Johnson revealed methamphetamines, prescription pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The couple was taken to the Morgan County Jail and are being held on bond.
