Christmas for kids arrives at Civic Center

By Staff
Hartselle’s Park and Recreation Department is gearing up for a busy Christmas season.
Events will kick off with a breakfast with Santa at the Civic Center Dec. 9 at 9 a.m. Santa will share stories with children as breakfast is being served. After breakfast, each child will have a chance to share their wish list with Santa and have a snapshot made with him.
Cost is $5 per child and includes the photo. The event is for children 8 and younger. Payment is due at the Civic Center by Dec. 7. There’s only room for 50 children, so register early.
The Park and Recreation Department is also offering Santa-Grams. Surprise your child with a visit from Santa himself. Santa will be visiting Hartselle children two weeks prior to Christmas. Santa will also bring your child a momento of his visit. Cost is $15 per child in the household; $5 for additional children in the same house. Stop by the Civic Center to register.
Kids Night Out is planned for Dec. 16 from 6:30-10 p.m. The event is for children kindergarten through fifth grade. There will be games, activities and snacks. Fee is $10 per child and space is limited. Register at the Civic Center by Dec. 13.
The Park and Recreation Department also has a direct connection to the North Pole again this year. The department is accepting your Santa letters and children will receive a personal reply from Santa. Send your letters to Santa c/o Hartselle Park and Recreation, P.O. Box 987, Hartselle, AL 35640. Please include a stamp for your return letter. All letters must be received no later than Dec. 18.
