Priceville opens season with road sweep of Danville

Priceville’s boys team bounced back from a two-point halftime deficit to complete the sweep of Danville Nov. 9 to kick off both schools’ varsity seasons. The Lady Bulldogs won the first game 55-28 and the boys followed with a 75-42 win over the Hawks.

After making the Class 2A Final Four last basketball season, the Bulldogs had big hopes for 2006-07 and they got off to a solid start with a win over Danville.
The Hawks led at halftime 27-25, but Priceville opened the second half with a 9-0 run and never trailed the rest of the way. All nine points in that run were scored by senior guard Josh Bedwell, who finished the game with 34 points including 19 in the third quarter.
K.C. Green led the Bulldogs in rebounding with seven, followed by Bedwell with six. Robert Varner and Andrew Johnson each had three assists to lead Priceville.
Danville was led by Zack Orr’s 17 points. David Long added 11 for the Hawks.

Priceville leapt out to an 18-3 lead after the first quarter and never looked back on the way to a road win over the Lady Hawks.
Abbie Harris had 17 points to lead Priceville, followed by Marissa Chambers with 13. Melissa Johnson had a team-high four rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
For Danville, Alaina Fitzgerald led the team in scoring and rebounds with 17 points and nine boards. Bekah Boswell added six rebounds for the Lady Hawks.
