Funeral for Betty Pitman Copeland, 99, of Burr Ridge, Ill., formerly of Hartselle, was Sunday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with J. T. Copeland officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Copeland died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at her residence. She was born May 30, 1907, in Lawrence County to Henry Hoyle Pitman and Laura Lavancy King Pitman. She was a member of Danville Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Copeland; a brother, D. C. Pitman; three sisters, Katie Hallman, Mattie Copeland and Hassie Orr; and a granddaughter, Cindy Shelton.
She is survived by two sons, James Copeland of Paw Paw, Mich and Wayne Copeland of Dresden, Tenn.; two daughters, Helen Brown Pitts of Hartselle and Carolyn Montgomery of Burr Ridge, Ill.; two sisters, Hattie Robbins and Hettie Stewart, both of Hartselle; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gary Montgomery, Mark Montgomery, Bobby Brown, Kenny Copeland, Daryl Brown and Joe Copeland.
