Funeral for Geteral Halbrooks Dunlap, 85. of Falkville was Sunday, Oct. 15, at 4 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Shaun Kennedy and Chuck Smith officiating.
Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunlap died Friday, Oct.13, 2006, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born May 8, 1921, in Morgan County to Jack Reeves and Samantha Anders Reeves. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Falkville for over 60 years during which she was a teacher in the children’s department for many years. Many people have enjoyed her famous cinnamon rolls. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harvie Halbrooks, John Leath and Austin Dunlap, two sons, Jeral Halbrooks and Larry Halbrooks, and a brother, Hansel Anders. She worked in the Falkville School cafeteria until her retirement in 1981.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Sylvia Halbrooks and Ronna Halbroks, both of Falkville; six grandchildren, Tracy Russell, Layne Dillard, Chad Halbrooks, David Halbrooks Al Brown and Ken Brown; and six great-grandchildren, Aden Russell, Ty Russell, Eli Russell, Addie Dillard, Brooks Dillard and Allie Cowley.
Pallbearers were Shannon Dillard, Chad Halbrooks, David Halbrooks, Eddie Johnson, Joe Edmondson, Mike Tarpley, Wayne Coots and Bob Ramey.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church in Falkville.
