Cars, stolen items located

By Staff
An array of stolen property and a stolen car that once belonged to a murder victim were recovered last week by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers with the Criminal Investigation Division conducted two separate investigations that led to the recoveries.
The cars were found Sept. 2 in the Tennessee River by a dive team–found a 2000 Dodge Ram, a 1997 Pontiac Firebird and a Ford Bronco. The Bronco was owned by Keith Edward Sullins, whose body was found off Parker’s Gap Road earlier this year. Three people, Steve Woodall, Lee Townson and Selena Kelly were charged with murder in connection with the case. Chris Hogan and Jared Campbell were charged with hindering prosecution. The other vehicles were also stolen from Morgan County.
In a separate investigation, hundreds of dollars of stolen property was recovered from Marshall County. Patrick Whisenant, 38, has been charged with burglary by Morgan County Sheriff’s investigators.
The Arab Police Department is also investigating Whisenant for a string of burglaries in their jurisdiction.
