Funeral for the Rev. Jerry M. Ferguson, 65, of Falkville was Wednesday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Baptist Church with the Revs. Bud Mayfield and Greg Alred officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Rev. Ferguson died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1941, in Morgan County to William Oral Ferguson and Dunreath Drake Ferguson. He was a 1959 graduate of Falkville High School, ordained by Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1963, graduated from Samford University in 1969 and graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., in 1982. He pastored churches in Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Robert "Jim" Ferguson and Elbon Paul Ferguson; and a sister, Katie Ferguson.
He is survived by two sons, John Michael Ferguson and David Lance Ferguson and wife Wanda, all of Falkville; two brothers, Billy J. Ferguson of Gatlinburg, Tenn. and Johnny W. Ferguson of Falkville; and a granddaughter, Alicia Ferguson of Falkville.
Pallbearers were Larry Ferguson, Eddie Ferguson, Randy Ferguson, Jerry Wilson, Taylor Graham and Danny Haynes.
