Funeral for Martin Jasper Plunkett, 88, of Decatur was Wednesday, April 19, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.
Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Plunkett died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1917, in Morgan County to John Plunkett and Sue Black Plunkett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Margie Champion Plunkett; a son, Phillip Wayne Champion; and four sisters.
He is survived by a son, Bennie Carl Champion of Somerville; two daughters, Margaret Ann Champion Pugh of Hartselle and Margie Sue Champion Parker of Lavergne, Tenn.; a brother, Ranzy Plunkett of Cullman; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Martin Grizzard, Jason Irwin, Wayland Kent, Shane Carter, Daniel Champion, Bennie Champion Jr. and Frank Morgan Jr.
