Lady Bulldogs remain unbeaten in area play

Priceville's Lady Bulldogs erupted for five runs in the fifth inning and went on to defeat Catholic of Huntsville 8-3 in a home game Monday evening. The win gave the Lady Bulldogs a 2-0 record in area games and 15-9 overall.
Lauren Bowen logged her first complete game of the season and received credit for the win. She allowed three runs on three hits while striking out seven batters and walking one.
Sumer Boyd led Priceville at the plate with a triple, single and sacrifice bunt. She also scored two runs. Caitlen Williams had a double and Jessica Hopper, Sara Parker, Jessica Kennedy, Ashton Howser and Bowen each singled.
Falkville 5
Meek 0
Sarah Champion pitched a complete game four-hitter, striking out eight, as Falkville shutout Meek on the road Monday.
Savannah Story was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Katie Ward finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Nikki Hale had an RBI single.
With the win, Falkville improved to 7-9 overall and has won five of its last eight.

Kristen Thompson and Brittney Atkins pitched three innings each as the Lady Hawks shut out Fairview Monday.
Bethany Evans had a double, a single and a stolen base and Whitney Haggamaker had a double and a stolen base. Kassie Cowart and Nicole Linderman both had singles and Charleston Wilson stole two bases and had a sacrifice fly.
Lady Devils go 1-3 at Westminster Tournament
Falkville finished with one win and three losses at the Westminster Tournament in Huntsville this weekend at Brahn Spring Park.

The Lady Devils managed just one hit off Westminster pitching. Sarah Champion took the loss, allowing two unearned runs and three hits while striking out five. Savannah Story had Falkville's only hit.

Ashlie Mayer allowed three earned runs and eight hits in the loss, while walking four. Nikki Hale had two doubles and an RBI and Whitney Eaves and Emily Dabbs each had a single. Dabbs also scored Falkville's only run.

Hale had two hits and three RBIs in the rout. Katie Ward and Wildmon had an RBI each and Brittany Key had two singles and two RBIs.
Champion and Katie Annerton split the pitching duties. Champion started and threw for three innings, allowing three hits and no runs. Annerton pitched the last two innings, allowing no hits.
Priceville 10

Whitney Eaves had Falkville's only hit as Priceville sophomore pitcher Jessica Hopper held the Lady Devils scoreless. Hopper struck out six and allowed two walks for the Lady Bulldogs.
Champion took the loss for Falkville, allowing 10 runs, just four of which were earned.
For Priceville, Caitlen Williams finished 2-for-3 and had three RBIs. Tiffany Bracken was also 2-for-3 and had two RBIs and Jessica Kennedy and Hopper had one RBI each.

Champion threw a complete game no-hitter March 30 as Falkville knocked off Vinemont on the road. Champion pitched seven innings and allowed nine walks while striking out four.
Whitney Eaves and Savannah Story each had two hits and an RBI for Falkville. Katrina Wildmon, Katie Ward and Emily Dabbs each had one hit and one RBI.

The Lady Blue Devils banged out 12 hits while giving up only five as they trounced area rival Catholic on the road March 28.
Ashlie Mayer pitched the final three innings and was credited with the win. She allowed two hits, no runs, two walks and had five strikeouts. Katie Annerton was the starter and allowed one run on three hits while giving up four walks.
Katrina Wildmon smashed two doubles and a triple in three times at bat and knocked in three runs. Six other Lady Blue Devils had hits. Mayer, Savannah Story and Katie Ward each had a pair of singles.
The win gave Falkville a 4-6 overall record and a 1-1 record in area competition.
