Kids Kastle turning trash into treasure

By Staff
Kids Kastle Learning Center in Hartselle is hoping to turn trash into treasure for the 2006 American Cancer Society Relay For Life Hartselle, the city's first ACS event to be held May 12 and 13 at E.A.R.T.H. Park. Kids Kastle is asking the community to donate used cell phones and inkjet cartridges to its Relay Hartselle team now through April 10. All donations will be traded to Phoneraiser, a company that specializes in recycling and refurbishing used technology, in exchange for cash to meet Relay Hartselle's $50,000 fundraising goal.
"We're very excited about this program," Marcy Voss of Kids Kastle Learning Center said. "This recycling program not only benefits the American Cancer Society, but assists in preserving the environment and bringing communications to people who could not otherwise afford it."
All cell phones and inkjet cartridges are accepted. Donations may be tax deductible. Donations are being accepted at Kids Kastle Learning Center. For more information, contact Marcy Voss or Dustin Puckett at 773-7312.
