Funeral for James E. Blanton, 63, of Hartselle was Sunday, Jan. 22, at 3:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Blanton died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Decatur. He was born June 6, 1942, in Morgan County to Abb Blanton and Terrie Pearson Blanton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Conner.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Moore Blanton of Hartselle; two sons, Tim Simmons of Hartselle and Cody Jay Russell of Decatur; four daughters, Cindy Simmons Bell of Massey and Laura McAbee, Lisa Pitman and Kim Phillips, all of South Carolina; two brothers, Tommy Blanton and Robert Wayne Blanton, both of Shelby, N.C.; a sister, Linda Phillips of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Simmons, Tyler Simmons, Adam Kyle, David Smith, Greg Bell and Jerry Woodall.
