Funeral for Sharon Booth Turney, 58, of Somerville was Friday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at Cotaco United Methodist Church with the Revs. David Weaver and Vandon Windsor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Turney died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1947, in Jefferson County to J.B. Booth and Lara Conn Booth. She was a member of Cotaco United Methodist Church and a graduate of Hazelwood High School. She was a lover of children and a child caregiver at Mother's Friend Daycare. She was an avid shopper, animal lover, loved to travel and had been married for 29 years.
She is survived by her husband, Carleton R. Turney of Somerville; a son, Todd Carleton Turney of Somerville; a daughter, Alicia Carol Turney of Decatur; her mother, Lara Booth of Town Creek; a brother, Billy "Chuck" Booth of Lexington; a sister, Jackie Booth Cross of Courtland; six nieces; four nephews; six great-nieces; and eight great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Wayland Cross, Phillip Cross, Jerry Sprinkle, John Conn, Ronnie Conn, Wesley Little and Rick Boozer.
