Funeral for Billy Burgess, 64, of Falkville was Saturday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Reeves officiating.
Burial was in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Burgess died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at his residence. He was born Oct. 1, 1941, in Morgan County to James Ruby Burgess and Stella Green Burgess. He lived in Tennessee most of his life; however, after his retirement he desired to move back to Alabama and enjoy his relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Ray Burgess and Donald Gary Burgess and a sister, Helen Pauline Burgess.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Watkins Burgess of Falkville; two daughters, Denise Shaw and husband Mike of Cummings, Ga. and Christy Neal and husband Brian of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, J.R. Watkins Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Ratledge and Betty Smith.
Pallbearers were Mike Shaw, Brian Neal, Therman Holcomb, Roy Green, Phillip Holcomb, Donald Green, Jason Taylor, Ronnie Green and Terry Holcomb.
