Funeral for Roy Lee Fairbanks, 89, of Leesburg, Fla., was held Monday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Fla.
Mr. Fairbanks died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005. He was born in Morgan County and moved to Lake County, FL in 1955. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus at Main Street Baptist Church. After retiring he devoted his time to gardening and sharing the abundance with family and friends. He served in the U.S. Army before the war and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rilla Fairbanks; a granddaughter, Belinda Lee; and four brothers, Buford, David, Avery and Ivan Fairbanks.
He is survived by two sons, Shirley Fairbanks and wife Peggy of Athens, Tenn. and Robert Fairbanks and wife Jo of Fruitland Park, Fla.; three daughters, Linda Lee and husband Haskle of Springville, Royalean Brasher and husband Jerrell of Fruitland Park, Fla. and Jane Fairbanks of Eustis, Fla.; a sister, Wille Lee Shadden of Somerville; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
