Funeral for beloved Granddad, Kenneth Walter Stockton, 59, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Patterson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Stockton died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 7, 1946, in Morgan County to Walter O. Stockton and Marie Patterson Stockton. He was an ordained Baptist deacon and a fifth grade boy's Sunday school teacher. He was an amateur Cutting Horse Championship Winner and a USTA Tennis League member at West Lake Country Club in Augusta, Ga.
Mr. Stockton graduated from Morgan County High School in 1964, attended Athens State College and graduated from the Alabama Military Academy and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. He retired as a major from the 848 Engineering Battalion of the Army National Guard. He was a private pilot.
His father, Walter O. Stockton, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Ashley Mackenzie Stockton and Anna Stockton Dickinson, both of Augusta, Ga.; a son, John; his mother, Marie Garlington of Hartselle; three sisters, Linda Stockton Boyer, Memory Stockton Smith and Marybeth Stockton, all of Hartselle; one grandson, Nicholas Carson Dickinson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were George "Butch" Waldrop, Nicholas Claire Dickinson, II, Matthew Owens, Patrick Smith, Max Wright and John Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the 1963-64 Morgan County High School football team.
