Oct. 13, 1955 -Mrs. Ben Calloway and little daughter Alicia Ann are spending the weekend in Madison, Tenn., with relatives.
Oct. 13, 1955 -Rep. Bob Gilchrist said this week that a concerted effort is being made to get the right-of-way rights cleared up in order to expedite paving of the state route from the Iron Man west to Five Points in Lawrence County.

-Judy Hartselle reigned tonight as homecoming queen at MCHS. She apparently brought good luck to the football Tigers as they trounced Falkville by a score of 28-0. Judy was selected queen by the football team, captained this season by Bobby Cooper and Don Cordar. The homecoming court consisted of Donna Blankenship, Carolyn Hartselle, Joy Sue Gibson, Fay Foote, Betty McClain, and Jenny Lauderdale.
Oct. 14, 1955 -MCHS junior Bill Stewart has been ill recently but has now been able to return to his classes.
Oct. 15, 1955 -Earl Cook, Jr., is soon to return to the States from Okinawa and is due for a discharge about the middle of November.
Oct. 15, 1955 -Four Hartselle girls are enrolled at Huntingdon College this fall-Helen Howell, Rhona Howell, Ann Sample, and Virginia Roberts.
Oct. 16, 1955 -At today's meeting of the Alabama Boxing and Wrestling Commission John W. McDaniel of Hartselle was appointed as the statewide inspector and investigator for these sports.
Oct. 16, 1955 -Hugh F. Penn is the new moderator of the Morgan County Baptist Association. He was elected tonight in a meeting at the West Hartselle Baptist Church.
Oct. 17, 1955 -Hartselle residents are mourning the death last week of Sid Wright, a barber here for 43 years. Mr. Wright was known to practically everyone and highly respected.
Oct. 18, 1955
-There was a robbery at the Hartselle ice plant last night. Proprietor J. C. Stroup reported more than $200 taken from two cash registers.
Oct. 19, 1955 -Scotty Stone spoke to the Current Review Club this afternoon about his work with the "experiment in international living" this past summer. He showed colored slides of his tour of Switzerland and Paris.
