A head-on collision involving three vehicles claimed the lives of a Priceville woman and a Falkville man Saturday and injured a passenger in one of the vehicles.
The mishap occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 67 and Skidmore Road.
The victims were Clifford Wayne Barbee, 52, of Falkville and Shelia Kay Jennings White, 29, of Priceville.
White was returning home from a visit with her mom when her car, a Buick LeSabre, was struck by the vehicle Barbee was driving. She was in the process of making a turn onto Skidmore Road when her car was hit. A third vehicle was clipped by Barbee's vehicle and came to a rest in the parking lot of the Budget Inn, according to a spokesman for the White family.
Barbee was pronounced dead on the scene by Morgan County Coroner Russ Beard. White was airlifted from the scene by helicopter but died enroute to Huntsville Hospital.
White's son, Tommy, five, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized overnight at Decatur General Hospital.
The accident was handled by Priceville Police Department.
Peck Funeral home handled arrangements for both of the victims.
