Deloris Fay Jones Blevins

Funeral for Deloris Fay Jones Blevins, 75, of Somerville was Tuesday, June 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Vandon Windsor and John Walker officiating.
Burial was in Somerville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Blevins died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born the second of three children on Sept. 20, 1929, in Winston County to Raymond and Minnie Jane Bailey Jones. After school, she received her diploma from Lillas School of Beauty Culture in 1948, and opened a beauty shop in Haleyville.
She and Gene married on April 4, 1953, and moved to Somerville and raised four children.
She was a devoted wife and mother, and her sweet and gentle spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Somerville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Walter Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Coleman Blevins of Somerville; one son, Keith Coleman Blevins of Somerville; three daughters, Janice Morgan of Eva, Deborah Writesel of Lacey's Spring and Wanda Sterling of Owens Crossroads; one sister, Pauline Watts of Double Springs; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Raymond Hamilton, Stanley Hamilton, Dorsey Walker, Larry Watts, Ray Watts and Austin Gillespie.
