Funeral for Flora Travis Summerford, 80, of Decatur was Wednesday, June 22, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Holmes officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Summerford died Monday, June 20, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Morgan County to Henry Samuel Travis and Mattie Rebecca Parker Travis. She worked as a doctor's assistant nurse for 48 years. She was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Decatur where she kept the nursery for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian R. Summerford.
She is survived by one son; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Tom Jordan, Junior Wallace, Paul Burgess, Gil Nix, Matthew Nix and Ronnie Travis.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Grisham and Dr. William Brown.
Memorials may be made to the Alabama Sheriff's Boys Ranch North, 165 Ranch Circle, Danville, AL 35619.
