Estelle Patton Simpson McEwen

A graveside service for Estelle Patton Simpson McEwen, 90, of Hartselle was Tuesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Birmingham with the Revs. Eddie Nicholson and Jack Redfearn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. McEwen died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was born July 1, 1914, in West Jefferson to Charles Gillette Patton and Buena Vista Lambert Patton. She worked as an LPN for several doctors in Birmingham and for Dr. Brogdon in Hartselle. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James B. Simpson and William R. McEwen; one grandon, Greg Bonner; and two brothers, Joseph C. Patton and John Wesley Patton.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Smith of Leeds and Barbara S. Bonner of Hartselle; one step-son, David McEwen of Starkville, Miss.; three sisters, Linnell P. Orr and Dorothy Orr, both of Hartselle and Ellon Warren of Vincent; one brother, Dave Patton and wife, Doris, of Graysville; one granddaughter, Donna S. Wilkerson and husband, David of Bonneville, Miss.; four grandsons, Whitt Smith and wife Susan of Montevallo, Britt Smith of Leeds, Jimmy H. Bonner and wife Deliah of Falkville and Courtney L. Bonner and wife Lisa of Richlands, N.C.; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Whitt Smith, Britt Smith, Jimmy Bonner, David Wilkerson, Courtney Bonner and David McEwen.
