Funeral for Pat Hanners, 58, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), March 10, at 2 p.m. at New Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in New Center Cemetery.
Ms. Hanners died Monday, March 7, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Morgan County to Robert Brandon Hanners and Hazel Keel Hanners. A 1966 graduate of Morgan County High School, she studied at Calhoun Community College and Athens College. She was a night supervisor at North Alabama Crisis Services (Hope Place). She had a great love for people and dedicated her life to helping others. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert B. Hanners.
She is survived by one daughter, Tonya Hughes and husband Jason of Hartselle; her mother, Hazel Hanners of Hartselle; one brother, Kenneth Brandon Hanners of Decatur; two sisters, Sue Holmes of Houston and Ceila Hamm of Decatur; three grandchildren, Xan Jones, Cala Jones and A.J. Hughes; one step-grandson, Tyler Tackett; and one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Rodney McAbee, Matthew Hamm, Daniel Hamm, Joseph Hamm, Randell Wilson, Charlie Yeager and Felton Hanners.
Junior pallbearers will be Hunter Minter, Tyler Tackett and A. J. Hughes.
Memorials may be made to Crisis Services of North Alabama or to the building fund at New Center Baptist Church.
