Hawks 60, Blue Devils 44
Matt Young scored 14 points to lead three double-digit scores and help Danville top Falkville by 16.
Nate Orr and Stratton Garner with 10 points each followed Young, while Zack Orr scored nine, DJ Bridges and Patrick Pinchon scored six each and Chris Vest added five.
Pinchon grabbed 10 rebounds, while Garner had eight and Nate Orr six more boards and handed out five assists. Young dished out four more assists.
The No. 2 ranked 3A team in the state improved to 19-2 overall.
Heath Alford lead Falkville with 17, while Cody Sewell scored nine, Thomas Holt seven and Adam Barron six and Adam Dye three.
Lady Hawks 48, Lady Blue Devils 35
Danville edged over the .500 mark with a non-area victory over Falkville. Magen Linderman paced Danville with 13 points, followed by Bethany Evans with 12, Charleston Wilson with seven, Jessica Hazel six, Cassie Cowart and Lauren Simmons both scored four points each and Haley Hensley scored two points.
Danville improved to 10-9 with the win.
The Lady Blue Devils were led by Andrea Tucker with 10, while Kayla Widner had nine, Katrina Wildmon had eight, Tara Tucker three, Whitney Eaves two and Anna Mayfield scored one point.
Falkville slipped to 6-14 overall.
Bulldogs 66, Lions 51
Priceville used four double-digit scorers to pick up a 2A, Area 14 win over Westminster.
Stephen Hardiman scored 17, followed by Josh Bedwell with 15, Dale Taylor added 12, and Alex Cannon had 11.
Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Ryan Mouser with nine and Hunter Teague and Will Stevens with one point each.
Priceville improved to 13-10 overall and 5-3 in area play.
Lady Bulldogs 52, Lady Lions 36
Priceville finished off area play unbeaten with a blowout of Westminster. The Lady Bulldogs ended area play with an 8-0 record behind the scoring of Tiffany Smith, who scored a game-high 24 points.
Emily Jenkins had seven, Kristy Barker six, Jessica Kennedy four, Lauren Bowen three, while Stephanie Hardiman and Tiffany Bracken had two each.
Jenkins and Smith grabbed seven rebounds each.
Priceville improved 17-4 overall.
Bulldogs 54, Saints 41
Priceville turned a close game at the half into an easy win with a 27-17 second half run.
Josh Bedwell paced the winners with 22 points, while also grabbing 13 rebounds. Alex Cannon added 14 more Priceville, while Dale Taylor had nine, Andrew Johnson four, Ryan Mouser and Will Stevens both had two and KC Green one scored one point.
Priceville upped its record to 14-10.
Lady Saints 68, Lady Bulldogs 63
St. Bernard shocked the ninth-ranked Class 2A girl's team despite the Lady Bulldogs featuring five double-digit scorers.
Emily Jenkins paced Priceville with 16, while Jessi Smith had 14, Jessica Kennedy had 12, and Kristy Barker and Tiffany Smith had 11 points each.
Tiffany Bracken and Stephanie Hardiman had two points each. Barker had seven rebounds and Jenkins six.
Priceville slipped to 17-5 with the loss.
Lady Tigers 57, Lady Golden Tigers 44
Hartselle's Lady Tigers improved their record to 18-5 overall and clinched a tie with Athens in their area by overpowering the Russellville Lady Tigers, 57-44, in a road game Friday night.
Jessica Andrews led the win with 17 points. Lauren Drake followed with 16 points and Mary Virginia Reeves added 10 points.
Golden Tigers 57, Tigers 40
Russellville handed Hartselle its fifth area loss with a strong defensive performance.
Rodgers paced the Tigers with 18 points, followed by Massey with nine, Orr and Maze had three each, and Kimbrell, Billings and Holmes scored two points a piece. Norwood had one point. Hartselle slipped to 7-16 overall.
Lady Patriots 64, Lady Red Devils 53
Brewer's Lady Patriots defeated the Lawrence County, 64-53, on the road Friday night. The win improved Brewer's record to 14-9 while Lawrence County dropped to 11-18.
Nichole Hayes and Courtney Scott each scored 12 points to lead the Lady Patriots. Heather Childers added and Megan Hormel had nine points.
Patriots 70, Red Devils 62
Brewer picked up their 18th win against seven losses by defeating Lawrence County, 70-62, on the road Friday night.
Matt Cobbs paced the Patriots with 20 points. Matt Neilsen followed with 16 points and Austin Mooney had 15 points. Thomas Holt added nine.
Hawks 64, Bobcats 55
Danville's Hawks, the number six-ranked team in Class 3A, extended their record to 20-2 by defeating the Speake Bobcats, 64-55, on the road Friday night.
The Hawks were ahead15-12 after one period, 32-27 at halftime and 50-38 after three-quarters.
Matt Young scored 18 points and pulled down three rebounds to lead the Hawks. Nate Orr followed with 13 points and five rebounds and Patrick Pinchon had 10 points and five rebounds. Chris Vest scored eight points and Dexter Wimberly added six points and eight rebounds.
Lady Bobcats 55, Lady Hawks 50
Danville's Lady Hawks fell to Speake's Lady Bobcats, 55-50, on the road Friday night.
The Lady Hawks were ahead 32-27 at halftime. Jessica Hazel paced Danville with 16 points. Bethany Evans followed with 12 and Megan Linderman added 10.
