Funeral for Faye Nell Franks Smith, 85, of Decatur was Thursday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Nix and Gary Patton officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born June 11, 1919, in Lawrence County to Cleveland Franks and Era Steed Franks. She was a member of Somerville Road Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Price Smith and a grandson, Phillip Melson.
She is survived by three sons, Neal Smith and wife Brenda, Ronnie Smith and wife Judy, all of Hartselle, and Steven Smith of Decatur; four daughters, Barbara Holmes and husband Gene of Hartselle, Ann Melson and husband, Billy of Danville, Shelby Brazier and husband Vince of Sequatchie, Tenn. and Kim Dobbs and husband Greg of Falkville; two brothers, Hoyt Franks of Ohio and Troy Franks of Hartselle; four sisters, Christine Waldrop of Moulton, Olene Wahlmeier of Augusta, Ga., Merle Lacy of Hartselle and Ruby Truitt of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or to the American Heart Association.
