Funeral for Bill R. Rutledge, 70, of Lansing, Mich. will be Thursday (today), Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Stinson officiating.
Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery in Eva.
Mr. Rutledge died Dec. 2, 2004. He was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Cullman County.
Mr. Rutledge was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was co-founder of Spartan Drywall, retiring in 1999. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing in both Michigan and Florida. He celebrated on Dec. 28, 2001, by scoring two holes-in-one in a single 18 hole round of golf.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara J. Rutledge; one daughter, Debi J. Fitzpatrick of Lansing, Mich.; one son, Michael Rutledge and wife Mary of Holt, Mich.; grandchildren, Cameron Rutledge, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Benjamin Rutledge and Abigail Rutledge; brothers, Leon Rutledge and wife Nancee of Alabama and Elbert Rutledge and wife Phyllis of Lansing, Mich.; one sister, Bobbie Faye Lovell and husband Keith of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
