Mary Margaret 'Lou' Briscoe King

Funeral for Mary Margaret "Lou" Briscoe King, 82, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dewain Clemons and Glen Smallwood officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. King died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at Decatur General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rufus Briscoe; one son, William "Possum" Briscoe; one daughter-in-law, Rosie Briscoe; and one son-in-law, Ferrell D. Clemons.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ray King of Hartselle; three sons, Eulas "Shorty" Briscoe and wife Charlotte, Joe Briscoe and wife Nena and Buddy Briscoe and wife Jean, all of Hartselle; two daughters, Christine "Cricket" Clemons of Hartselle and Vera Nell Naylor and husband Bobby of Hartselle; one sister, Lola Faye Hallmark of Arab; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Brandon Briscoe, Billy Briscoe, Jonathan Naylor, Dustin Briscoe, Ronald Wilbanks and Gary Lemmond.
Honorary pallbearers were all the boys Margaret and Rufus helped raise all those years.
