Turnovers help Eagles fly past the Bulldogs, 16-0

Bremen – Priceville showed signs of getting its offense on track Friday night in Bremen against the Cold Springs Eagles, but turnovers and a stingy Eagle defense kept the Bulldogs out of the end zone in a 16-0 loss.
The visiting Bulldogs took the opening kickoff and moved the ball well into Eagle territory before turning the ball over on downs.
The Bulldog defense played well during the first half, keeping the game scoreless until Cold Springs' Colton Strickland split the uprights with a 21-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead as time expired in the first half.
Priceville threatened to score late in the second quarter, but turnovers continued to plague the visitors.
Cold Springs sealed the win with two late touchdowns.
Nick Smith took it in from nine yards out with 10:57 left in the fourth quarter.
Steve Roden capped the evening's scoring on a four-yard jaunt with 5:35 left in the game.Priceville finished with 105 rushing yards on 30 carries.
Dale Taylor led the Bulldogs with 39 yards while Hunter Teague picked up 31. Quarterback Zach Fairbanks was two-of-eight through the air for nine yards. Fairbanks also averaged 40 yards on three punts.
Cold Springs' ground-based offense totaled 238 yards on 55 carries.
Priceville (1-4) travels to Falkville this Friday. The Blue Devils fell to Cordova and slipped to 0-5 on the season.
The matchup will be the first meeting of the two Morgan County schools.
Priceville, which is playing its first season of 2A football, will be looking for its first region win of the year.
