A $10,000 donation from the city of Hartselle is a big boost to the Morgan County Free Medical Clinic, according to Trudy Grisham, president of the Decatur General Hospital Foundation and a member of the clinic's board of directors.
The gift was authorized by action of the city council at its last regular meeting on September 28.
"I was out-of-town when the donation was voted on, and I was so thrilled when I got back in town and learned of the good news," said Trudy Grisham, president of the Decatur General Hospital Foundation and a member of the clinic's board of directors."
"When we started this project several months ago," she added, "we knew we needed the support of our municipalities as well as churches and civic organizations. The response we have received has been phenomenal. The support of Hartselle is greatly appreciated."

With an all-volunteer staff of doctors, nurses and other medical specialists, it is open to patients who are not covered by hospital insurance, Medicaid assistance, or the ability to pay out-of-pocket.
