Family thanks community
Editor,
I would like to thank the Morgan County community for establishing the Susan D. Vierck Memorial Fund in memory of our daughter, Susan D. Pike Vierck, daughter of Eva Zirlott of Decatur and Montie Pike of Las Vegas.
The memorial fund was donated to Center Springs United Methodist Church, 4851 East Upper River Road in Somerville, for a new or rebuilt sign for the church. Donations are still being accepted: Susan D. Vierck Memorial Fund, c/o Regions Bank 108 4th Ave. N.E., Decatur, AL 35601.

Spaghetti supper a success
Editor:
Sparkman School had its first annual spaghetti supper Aug. 30 to kick off its first PTO meeting of the year. The dinner was a success; with the help of local contributors our school was able to raise $300.88. The PTO officers would like to thank the contributors that added to our success. The contributors are as follows: Cracker Barrel of Decatur cooked and oversaw the dinner, Jerry Smith of Hartselle Frozen Foods and Meats donated ground beef, Food World of Decatur (both locations) donated gift cards, Hometown Market of Hartselle donated $10 in store merchandise, Winn Dixie of Decatur donated a gift card, Coca-Cola Bottling company donated four cases of can drinks, McCoys Produce of Hartselle donated a half of case of lettuce, and HomeStyle BBQ donated five gallons of sweet tea. Thank you from Sparkman School PTO Officers. We appreciate each contribution from everyone. We could not have had the success that we did had it not been for your support. All money raised will be matched by the Morgan County Board of Education.
