Big game at Ogle

Isn't doesn't involve region play. It's not a playoff game. But, there's no question the game is big. Hartselle at Decatur is for more than just bragging rights. The outcome will influence the ASWA football poll. Ranked fifth in Class 6A, Decatur would fall a few spots with a loss, but probably not out of the Top 10. Hartselle who fell out of the Top 10 in 5A after their loss to Russellville would re-enter the poll with a win.
Regardless of the outcome, both of these squads will be playing come state playoff time.
Hartselle (2-1) at Decatur (3-0)
The Red Raiders have been spelling victory with a "D" this season. In three wins they have only allowed eight points. Less than three points per game. The Tigers are coming off a home loss to Russellville, a game they could have won. Hartselle's offense needs to control the ball and keep the Tiger defenders off the field. I usually go with the home team when two strong squads face each other. Not this time…Tigers 20, Red Raiders 13
Priceville (1-2) at Danville (3-0)
Priceville coach Marty Chambers told me his team needs to find an identity on offense. They won't find one in Danville against one of the best defenses in the state…Hawks 27, Bulldogs 6
Brewer (0-3) at West Point (3-0)
The Patriots travel to Cullman County for a matchup with a seasoned squad, which has dominated its opponents this year. It will be a homecoming for Billy Coleman, who used to coach West Point. He won't feel welcome…Warriors 23, Patriots 14
Falkville (0-3) at Vinemont (2-1)
Vinemont hosts its third home game in four weeks. The Blue Devils are fighting hard, but keep coming up short. The home team will see they come up short a fourth time…Eagles 21, Blue Devils 17
The Citadel (0-1) at Auburn (3-0)
The Tigers won perhaps the biggest game of Tommy Tubberville's career at Auburn. The victory gives them the inside track to the SEC championship game. The Citadel has played only once because they postponed their opener due to the threat of Hurricane Frances.
They'll wish they had postponed this game…Tigers 52, Bulldogs 3
Alabama (3-0) at Arkansas (2-1)
This match up became a tougher game when Brodie Croyle went down with a torn ACL last week.
Arkansas rebounded from a two-point loss to Texas with an easy win last Saturday. Is Mark Guillon ready to play quarterback in the SEC?
Considering he transferred from Miami, I'll say yes…Crimson Tide 27, Hogs 10
