Funeral for Robert Odell Nix, 78, of Hartselle was Sunday, Sept. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Legg officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Nix died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1926, in Morgan County to Bob C. Nix and Dona Denton Nix. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was retired as a group leader of the drawing department at Wolverine Tube. He was a Baptist. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his first wife, Selma Travis Nix.
He is survived by his wife, Gracie Nix of Hartselle; one son, Gilbert R. Nix and wife Donna of Decatur; one stepson, Ronald Travis of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Becky Travis Wallis of Florence; one sister, Evelyn Walker of Phenix City; one grandson, Matt Nix and wife Suzanne; four stepgrandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ronald Roberts, Haywood Nix, Bud Cole, Erskine Speegle, Steve Legg, John Paul Burgess and DeWayne Teague.
