Funeral for Zeakel Hubert Hughes, 85, of Decatur was Saturday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with W. L. Richey officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hughes died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at his residence. He was born Oct. 2, 1918. He was a professional fisherman, hunter and a champion domino player.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hughes of Decatur; three sons, Roger Glenn Hughes of Somerville, Larry Louis Hughes of Decatur and Connie Ronald Hughes of Triana; three daughters, Jewell Deloris Harvey of Decatur, Mona Faye Carey of Danville and Theresa Annette Hanes of Hartselle; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother; and four sisters.
Pallbearers were Connie Ronald Hughes, Donald Thomas Corey, James Arthur Hanes, James Arville Harvey, Johnny Mitchell Gillott and Ricky Lee Marks.
