Funeral for the Rev. William "Wally" Ashley, 82, of Eva was Wednesday, June 23, at Friendship Baptist Church in Cullman with the Revs. Gary Waddell and David Lamar officiating and Moss-Service Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Cullman City Cemetery.
Rev. Ashley died Monday, June 21, 2004, at his residence. He was born May 30, 1922, to William Andrew Ashley and Zena Elizabeth Clark Ashley. He was a retired minister and also retired from Cullman Cabinet Shop.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Aldena Ashley of Eva; three sons James Ashley and wife Gloria, Danny Ashley and wife Joyce and Jonathan Ashley; one brother, Richard Ashley; five sisters, Ernestine Ashley, Ruby Blakely, Becky Blakely, Mae Fanchier and Sue Green; grandchildren, Tina Fernandez, Greg Ashley, Shea Ashley, Cindy South, Miranda Ashley and Chris Ashley; step grandchildren, Pamela Burk and Amanda Holmes; great grandchildren, Nick Fernandez, Joven Fernandez, Aaron Fernandez, Destinie Westmoreland, Tiffany Ashley; step great grandchildren, Tanner Burk, Alexa Burk, Erin Holmes and Leah Holmes; and special friends, Alton and Ann Page.
Memorials may be made to Foreign Missions at Friendship Baptist Church, 1104 County Road 1435, Cullman, AL 35058.
