Clark, Glasscock to meet in November

Two current county commissioners will face each other in November's general election to decide the group's next chairman.
Jeff Clark and John Glasscock each won their party's primaries on Tuesday. They will face each other in the November general election.
Clark handily defeated opponent Mike Flowers 2,528 votes, or 73 percent, to 915 votes, or 27 percent, to win the Democratic nomination.
Glasscock, a Republican, received 3,890 votes, or 52 percent, out of the three candidate field. John Mitchell received 2,265 votes, or 31 percent and James Bowling received 1,724 votes, or 17 percent.
The chairman's post is a six-year term, paying some $82,417 per year.
Other election results include:
George will face Democrat Ricky Borden in the November general election.
Also on Tuesday's ballot were the presidential candidates for each party. President George Bush captured 91 percent of the GOP vote in county, while Democrat John Kerry received 82 percent of his party's votes. Voter turnout was light Tuesday, with less than 25 percent of Morgan County's registered voters casting a ballot.
