The Morgan County High School Class of 1974 announces its 30-year class reunion, to be held Friday, Aug. 6, and Saturday, Aug. 7, in Hartselle. Concerts by the River 2004 continues Monday, May 17 at Rhodes Ferry Park in Decatur featuring the Athens High School Jazz Band at 6 p.m., Charlie Lyle Combo at 6:45 p.m. and Marvin Hale at 7:30 p.m. Bring a picnic, blanket or lawn chair and enjoy this free event.

Parents Against Drug Abuse is a parent supported network where concerned parents can go learn about drug abuse, causes, warning signs, preventive measures, and where insured and uninsured can go for help. The group will meet May 18 at 7 p.m. at Sparkman Civic Center with a speaker from New Vision Detox Center. All parents are encouraged to attend. No registration is required.

Cotaco Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, May 22, 6 a.m.-10 a.m., with pancakes and all the trimmings, at Station No. 1.

Hartselle's New Beginnings Quilt Guild meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of First Christian Church on East Main Street. Open to all who are interested in quilt making, the guild is focused on the beginning quilt maker to help them learn how to make a new block each month and new techniques used to make them. Free personal income tax help is available through the AARP Tax-Aide Program for middle and low income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older. AARP tax counselors will be available by appointment at Sparkman Civic Center (773-2581) on Thursdays, and at the Morgan Baptist Association (773-5243) on Thursdays and Fridays, now through April 15. AARP membership is not required.
American All-Star is having a summer dance/drill team camp at Auburn University June 4-7. The camp is open to all junior high and high school color guard/flag teams, dance teams and majorette squads. For more information, call 1-800-STAR-403.
The Senior Nutrition Center at Sparkman Civic Center is available for area seniors, ages 60 and older, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., for food, fellowship and fun. The meal fee is a daily donation of 50 cents, but the fellowship is free. To reserve a meal, call 773-0786 by 10:30 a.m. on the day you plan to attend. If you need transportation, call 351-4650. Homebound meals are also available for those unable to come to the center by calling 351-4781 or 117-0786.
