Funeral for Harold L. Morris, 72, of Cotaco was Sunday, March 21, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Morris died Friday, March 19, 2004, at his residence. He was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Morgan County to Theopolus Morris and Viola Jackson Morris. He attended Cotaco United Methodist Church. He was retired from Delphi and Wolverine Tube in Decatur. He was a member of the 1950 Union Hill State Champions basketball team and was slated to be inducted to the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame in June of this year. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lindsey Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Jenkins Morris of Cotaco; two sons, Gary H. Morris of Decatur and Terry L. Morris of Cotaco; three daughters, Carol Root of La Quinta, Calif.; Patricia Williams of Atlanta, Ga. and Debbie Perrin of Decatur; six brothers, Charles Morris, Jack Morris, Thomas Morris, Earl Morris and Howard Morris, all of Decatur and Jim Morris of Cave Junction Oregon; two sisters, Evelyn Rowe of Union Grove and Grace Stubbs of Huntsville; 12 grandchildren, Roger and Dustin Root, Jordan Williams, Jesse and Sara Beth Perrin, Krystle and Lindsay Morris, Mary Caitlin Perrin, Alexandra Morris, Austin Morris, Kadie Morris and Anna Grace Morris.
Pallbearers were Roger Root, Dustin Root, Jordan Williams, Jesse Perrin, Bill Gilchrist and Mike Jenkins.
Memorials may be made to the Cotaco United Methodist Church.
