Funeral for Thurman L. Morris, 94, of Hartselle was Sunday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Houston and Rev. Dr. David Parker officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Morris died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Limestone Health Facility. He was born Jan. 4, 1910, in Morgan County to Andrew Jackson "Tripp" Morris and Emma Ward Morris. He was the last survivor of ten siblings. He was a Baptist and a farmer in Morgan County his entire life. He enjoyed going to gospel singings, spending time with his family and was especially proud of his only granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Earlene Harvey Morris of Hartselle; his son Robert and his wife Shelby Morris of Decatur; a granddaughter Jena Hughey and husband Thomas of Massey; and great granddaughter, Jessica Marie Hughey.
Pallbearers were Charles Parker, Gary Fowler, Thomas Hughey, Carl Penn, John Hart, Russell Reeder, Milford Fields and Howard Anders.
