Saddam Hussein no longer fearsome
Editor:
When Saddam Hussein was captured in a rat hole, he looked nothing like a murdering dictator and a master of debauchery. Instead he looked like a worn-out caveman in a grade B movie. At the time of capture, he had in his possession a gun, half a million dollars in cash and a can of Spam. What's a Muslim doing with a can of pork? What a hypocrite.
Besides, I thought he hated America, but he had all American products tucked away in a cubby hole. It must have appeared laughable and serious, all at the same time, when confronted by U.S. Troops, when he said "My name is Saddam Hussein. I am president of Iraq (not any more he's not) and I want to negotiate.
Negotiate! Here is a man who killed over a million people, suppressed over 25 million of his own people and he wants to cop out for a deal. How ironic. He wants mercy, but he showed no mercy to the people he tortured and killed. Saddam Hussein encouraged suicide missions, but he himself was a hog callowing meekly without firing a single shot, a coward to the end. I hope his royal haughtiness has been humiliated for good. To quote president George W. Bush, "good riddance."
A big salute to our men and women in uniform who ended this tyrant's regime.
