Funeral for Cecile E. Balch, 91, of Decatur was Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at Flint Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Cagle officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Balch died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec,. 25, 1911, in Valhermoso Springs to Robert Hunkapillar and Annie Mae Travis Hunkapillar. She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of Flint Baptist Church. She was a lifelong Baptist. Mrs. Balch was the widow of Hezzie E. Balch and the mother of the late Shelia E. Jones and Alma J. Balch.
She is survived by four sons, Boots Balch, Edd Balch and wife Elaine and Robert Balch and wife Henrietta, all of Decatur and Paul Balch of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Mary A. Elliott of Decatur and Anita D. Halbrooks and husband Tommy of Hartselle; four granddaughters, six grandsons; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Hodges, Chris Hodges, Stanley Jones, Dustin Balch, Ashley Balch, Matthew Balch and Mark Blaske.
