Downtown Hartselle will be alive with Christmas spirit next week as The Red House Grill and the Depot host the 3rd annual F.A.C.E.S. Christmas Open House and Silent Auction.
The event will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9, 5-8 p.m. with refreshments and live entertainment from the Hartselle High School Brass Ensemble and the Danville High School Ensemble at The Red House Grill and a silent auction across the street at the Depot.
Items ranging in price from $10-$1,200 will be up for auction, including the following: Collectibles, merchant gift certificates, house wares and d/cor, art, spa packages, limousine and car rentals, tools, beauty products and accessories.
All proceeds will benefit F.A.C.E.S. (Families And Children Experiencing Separation) of Morgan County.
F.A.C.E.S. works in conjunction with the Morgan County Department of Human Resources to meet the needs of abused and neglected children who have been placed, or are at risk of being placed, in foster care.
The organization also assists foster parents to provide each child from birth through young adulthood with school clothes and supplies, attending camps, receiving braces and contact lenses, extracurricular activities, and numerous other needs.
Last year, 147 Morgan County children were in foster care and 173 were in protective services.
The F.A.C.E.S. Christmas Open House and Silent Auction, hosted annually by Ronnie and Jennifer Woodward, is the first charitable event to raise funding solely for the program.
The event is open to the public. In addition, downtown merchants will offer extended Christmas shopping hours until 9 p.m. For more information, call 773-6956.
