Robinson earns employee of the year designation

Brian Robinson of Hartselle was recently named the Morgan County Employee of the Year by the North Alabama Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.
Robinson works in the shipping and receiving department at Lakeland Industries unloading trucks bringing disposable garments manufactured in China and Mexico. The company produces protective, disposable coveralls and chemical suits, which are used to prevent contamination or exposure to harmful elements.
Robinson is deaf and has difficulty reading and writing. When unloading freight, he must pay close attention styles and lot numbers. Initially, Robinson used the service of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation, Interpreter and Support Specialist job coach.
The Lakeland Industries staff now uses some sign language to communicate with Robinson.
The North Alabama Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities is proud to recognize Robinson as Morgan County's Employee of the Year based on his employer's recommendation and the performance he has exhibited on the job.
Robinson's employer, Lakeland Industries, was also recognized as Morgan County's Employer of the Year.
