Holt, Goree to wed Aug. 9
Teria Holt of Somerville and Van Holt of Priceville announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Dawn Holt, to Christopher Dell Goree, son of Dell and Renee Goree of Somerville.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of A.P. Brewer High School.
She is employed by TFE Technology Holdings, Redstone Division. She is the granddaughter of Beatrice Turney of Somerville, the late Parrish Turney, and the late Hassie and Rene Holt of Hartselle.
The groom-elect is a 1995 graduate of A.P. Brewer High School. He is employed by International Diesel of Alabama. He is the grandson of Odell and Margaret Goree of Somerville and E.V. and Ann White of Priceville.
The wedding will be held Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. at Somerville Baptist Church.
Sparkman, Mason to wed
James Sparkman and Donna Hawkins of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Nicole Sparkman, to Timothy Ryan Mason, son of Tim and Tina Mason of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Danville High School and is currently attending Wallace State Community College. She is employed by Union Planters Bank of Hartselle and attends Fairview Church of God. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Addeline Driver of Hartselle, Hester Nix of Hartselle, and Paul Sparkman of Decatur.
The groom-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School. He is employed by Doorcraft and attends Fairview Church of God. He is the grandson of Dan and Doris Farris of Huntland, Tenn., and Willard and Eunice Mason of Huntland, Tenn.
The wedding will be held Aug. 9 at Fairview Church of God in Falkville.
Tyree, Tanner to wed Aug. 16
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Tyree of Arley announce the engagement of their daughter, Bridgett Blake Tyree of Addison, to Justin Conley Tanner, son of Jim and Karen Tanner of Danville.
Ms. Tyree is also the daughter of the late Linda Gail Tyree.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Vergie and Grover Mashburn of Altoona, Fla., the late Willard Wilkins, the late Rube Townson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvert Tyree. She is employed by NARE Home Medical of Cullman.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Vellene Tanner of Danville and the late John Tanner, and Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Hill of Decatur. He is employed by Gillette Electric of Cullman.
The wedding will be held Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. at Danville Baptist Church.
Weddings
Nelson, Wallace exchange vows
Heather Nicole Nelson of Hartselle and Joshua Robert "Chip" Wallace of Decatur were married July 26, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Jeri Hunt officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Lori Nelson of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Martha and Steve Shelton of Decatur and Joe Wallace of Hartselle.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore a formal gown of white duchess satin designed with a deep Basque waistline edged with satin. The strapless gown featured a molded bodice richly embellished with scrolling sutasch embroidery delicately adorned with pearls. A contrasting band, also adorned with sutasch and pearls, detailed the neckline. The fully gathered ball gown skirt was bordered with a wide edge of sutasch embroidery and swept into a semi-cathedral train. A sheer stole of organza trimmed to match the gown completed the ensemble.
Her veil of imported French tulle was adorned with crystals and was held by a matching bridal bandeau. Her bouquet featured fresh cut summer flowers.
Susan King of Oneonta, aunt of the bride, was matron of honor.
Christy Heaps of Tuscaloosa, sister of the groom, and Anna Mobley of LaGrange, Ga., were bridesmaids. Kelsey King of Oneonta, cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid.
Katie Heaps, 4, of Tuscaloosa, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Drew Heaps, 18 months, of Tuscaloosa, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
The bride's attendants wore Victorian lilac dresses, each with a different top, made by Alexia Designs. Their bouquets featured fresh cut summer flowers.
Brian Smith of Hartselle was best man.
Jason Payne of Decatur, Brandon Mobley of LaGrange, Ga., and Tim Evans of Huntsville were groomsmen.
Gavin King of Oneonta, cousin of the bride, was the candle lighter.
Music was provided by singers Chris and Toni Franks of Somerville and sound equipment was provided by Wayne Byford of Hartselle.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
The bride's table featured a tiered cake adorned with live roses, greenery and baby's breath.
The groom's table featured a police officer theme chocolate cake.
Debbie Blankenship of Moulton was wedding director. Sonja Cooper, Amber Bray, Anabeth Shelton, Suzy Chaney and Myra Arrington assisted with the reception.
Jennifer Metzger of Decatur, cousin of the bride, kept the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico. They will reside in Harvest.
