Plans to expand the runway at Rountree Field have been put on hold while city officials revamp the project bids.
Hartselle's City Council rejected three project bids last week, saying all had come in higher than expected.
The bids came in some $60,000 over expectations.
"We're going to re-draft the bid descriptions in an effort to come in under budgeted guidelines," Department of Development Director Jeff Johnson said.
In other city council news:
The council voted unanimously to extend the franchise agreement with Charter Communications but only through Jan. 26, 2004.
In the interim, the city will be working with Local Government Services to draft a new franchise agreement.
Local Government Services was hired by the city last month.
