Britnell, Bradley to wed Aug. 30
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Britnell of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lee Britnell, to Brandon David Bradley, son of David and Mona Bradley of Waynesboro, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
She is the granddaughter of Clanton and Gwendolyn Hovater of Mount Hope and Jewel and Willodean Britnell of Russellville.
The groom-elect is a 1997 graduate of Wayne County High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's degree in biology.
He is a second lieutenant in the United States Army and currently awaiting active duty orders to Fort Leonardwood, Mo., in the US Army Corp of Engineers.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. Robert S. Irwin, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Martin of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., the late Orville Bradley and the late Mrs. Bertha Bradley of Waynesboro, Tenn.
The wedding will be held Aug. 30 at 4 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church.
Hughes, Bodel to wed Aug. 16
Robert and Sandra Hughes of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacie Renee Hughes of San Francisco, to Douglas John Bodel of San Francisco, son of Barbara Bodel of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Peter Bodel of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The bride-elect is a graduate of New Ulm High School in Minnesota, the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree, and The University of Alabama with a master's degree.
She is employed by Southern Living Magazine in advertising sales.
She is the granddaughter of the late Harvey and Adlea (Payne) Hughes of Trenton, Ky., and the late William Thomas and Alice (Bryan) Warren of Guthrie, Ky.
The groom-elect is a graduate of St. George's School and McGill University. He is a CFA charter holder. He is employed by BNP Paribas Merchant Banking Group. He is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research, Security Analysts of San Francisco, and World Seido Karate Organization. He is the grandson of Douglas Haig Cameron of Orillia, Ontario, Canada, and the late Elizabeth (Sanderson) Cameron.
The wedding will be held Aug. 16 at the Canadian Memorial Church in Vancouver.
Sims, Widick to wed Sept. 13
Darrell and Sue Sims of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Joy Sims, to Lane Herschel Widick, son of Joe and Elaine Widick of Lebanon, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2002 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University with a bachelor's degree in child and family studies. She is employed by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morgan County as program director and by Rite Aid in Hartselle as a pharmacy technician. She is the granddaughter of Lawrence and Patsy Wilson of Tallassee and Dewey and Merle Sims of Cullman.
The groom-elect is a 1996 graduate of Friendship Christian School and a 2001 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University with a bachelor's degree in Bible studies. He is employed by Ashland Church of Christ in Ashland, Tenn., as a youth minister. He is the grandson of Derrick and Margaret Widick of Nashville, Mary Elizabeth Smith of Lebanon, Tenn., and the late Dennie Smith.
The wedding will be held Sept. 13 at Hartselle Church of Christ.
Bettis, Garnett to wed July 26
Rod and Terry Bettis of Roswell, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Keightley Allison Bettis, to Dustin Michael Garnett, son of Mike and Lanett Garnett of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Roswell High School and a 2003 graduate of Auburn University. She served as president of Delta Tau Alpha. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Patricia Donegan of Atlanta.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2000 graduate of Auburn University. He is employed by Sud Chemi Chemicals as a chemical engineer. He is the grandson of Jackie Stiles of Hartselle and Christine Hope of Cullman.
The wedding will be held July 26 at Roswell Founders Hall in Roswell, Ga.
Weddings
Lyons, Crisler exchange vows
Amy Paulette Lyons of Hartselle and Alan Dyar Crisler of Decatur were married July 12, 2003 at 6 p.m. at The Chapel at Prewitt Farm.
The Rev. Brad Walker officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lyons of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Crisler of Decatur.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore an informal bridal gown of diamond white silk crepe. The mock two-piece gown was fashioned with a molded bodice richly embellished with silk Venice lace featuring a scooped neckline with broken bugle beads extending to spaghetti beads. A soft sheath skirt of crepe swept to a godet's train. A bridal band of crystals completed her ensemble.
Her bouquet featured white Philonopsis orchids.
Deede Lyons Jones of Decatur was maid of honor.
Christy Richards of Eva and Stacy Nantz Roll of Decatur were bridesmaids.
Wyker Jones of Decatur was ring bearer.
Hiram Crisler, father of the groom, was best man.
Hiram Crisler, Jr. and Stanley Howse, both of Decatur, were groomsmen.
Beau Jones of Decatur and Lucas Hitt of Trinity were ushers.
Music was provided by Deede Jones, Scott Slate, and reception pianist Dr. Allen J. Schmidt.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Decatur County Club.
Susan Hines was wedding director.
The couple honeymooned in Orange Beach. They will reside in Hartselle.
