Seventh grader scores 21.25 on ACT

Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
For most high school students, a 21.25 score on the ACT would be something to brag about.
That's especially the case when the person taking the exam is a seventh grader.
Priceville High School seventh grader Lucas McDaniel was recently recognized at The University of Alabama for earning an ACT score of 21.25.
The ACT is usually given to high school students in their junior year.
The scores are used to qualify for college.
McDaniel's score would be high enough to gain entrance into most state colleges.
McDaniel's score has put him into an elite category.
More than 2,000 Alabama seventh grade students took the ACT this academic year. Those scoring at or above 20 were recognized at the ceremony.
McDniel was the only Morgan County Schools student to receive the honor.
He said he prepared for the ACT for months through books, sample tests, and computer programs.
McDaniel is the son of Forrest and Robin McDaniel of Somerville.
