Many college students are now back at home for the summer. Others are continuing to take classes.
1943-June 12, Rev. Billy Stephenson is enrolled in the summer session at Howard College, but comes home to fulfill preaching engagements on the weekend.
1958-June 12, Bowes Channell, student at Georgia Tech, arrived home Saturday to spend the summer with his mother, Mrs. D. G. Channell, and other relatives.
1928-June 13, Clarence Ford of Hartselle will represent the eighth Alabama Congressional district at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis in the new class being formed there. Young Mr. Ford is an appointee of Congressman Almon.
1938-June 13, Carolyn Sharpley will receive her B.S. degree at the end of the current summer term of Peabody College in Nashville.
1924-June 14, Bruce E. Sherrill will return soon from Boston where he has been attending the Massachusetts institute of Technology for the past ten months.
1946-June 14, Buford Kracke is a summer school student at Peabody College.
1950-June 15, Dr. Roy R. Kracke, dean of the Medical College of Alabama, and one of Hartselle's most illustrious sons, has concluded another successful year as head of this state's only institution for the training of physicians. Dr. Kracke has an international reputation as an authority on diseases of the blood and has published articles several times in leading medical journals.
1944-June 16, Bobby Mixon will go to Atlanta in a few weeks to enroll at Georgia Tech where he will take his V 12 training for the U.S. Navy.
1953-June 17, As a result of her superb work in the spring classes just concluded, Lucia Faye Cooper has made the dean's list at Florence State Teachers' College.
1905-June 18, Prof. J. H. Riddle is negotiating to sell the Hartselle College to the city council. If the deal is concluded Prof. Riddle would continue as its president.
