Enquirer nabs most improved APA honors

The Hartselle Enquirer was named the state's most improved large weekly newspaper in the Alabama Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest.
The Enquirer won nine awards in the contest, ranging from design and layout awards to honors for sports coverage and photography.
"We are thrilled with this news," Publisher Leada DeVaney said. "This is a testament to our progressive and hard working staff. We've made some exciting changes in the last year and each were designed to better serve our readers and advertisers. This is an award all of us – readers, advertisers and members of the community – can take pride in."
In addition to Most Improved honors, the Enquirer won:
The Enquirer was one of 76 newspaper taking part in the contest. More than 2,825 entries were submitted.
The awards will be presented at the APA's 132nd annual summer convention held at Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach.
