Funeral for Mary Elizabeth Thorne, 78, of Hartselle was Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Redfern officiating.
Burial was in Dement Cemetery in Limestone County.
Mrs. Thorne died Friday, May 2, 3003. She was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Roscoe, Texas to Jessie Greshman and Bertie Cagle Greshman. She was a homemaker. She was a resident of Hartselle for 35 years, a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church, a volunteer for the Senior Citizens Center in Hartselle, a volunteer for the Morgan County Baptist Association The Caring Place and a previous board member for the Morgan County Commission on Aging. She was the widow of Dewey Thorne.
She is survived by two sons, David Ray Thorne of Decatur and Joseph Thornton Thorne of Westwego, La.; one daughter, Brenda Faye Mauck of Marion, Texas; one sister, Donna Faye Bailey of Davison, Mich.; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brian Thorne, Matthew Thorne, Jeremy Carmon, Fred Lindsey, Reathel Hightower and Charles Sanford.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Morgan County Baptist Association The Caring Place or the West Hartselle Baptist Building Fund.
