A graveside service for Doris Wertsch, 88, of Falkville, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, was Monday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines with the Rev. Dwaine Gibson officiating. Peck Funeral Home handled local arrangements.
Mrs. Wertsch died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born Feb. 7, 1915, in Goldfield, Iowa, to Anton G. Rasmussen and Ada F. Bjorman Rasmussen. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Des Moines and played the piano with all her heart.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Wertsch of Hartselle and David Wertsch of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Nadine Myers and Vera McBride, both of Des Moines, Iowa; and two grandsons, Benjamin and Charles Wertsch, both of Hartselle.
